In 2013, The Numero Group released the band Sara Lund is undoubtedly one of the best drummers in the Pacific Northwest — and has been for as long as some of you have been alive. Her steadily adventurous drumming built a solid foundation for Unwound released a full demo tape in 1991, and recorded an album in early 1992 (though it would not be released until 1995 as Unwound). In July 1992, Sara Lund replaced her friend Sandeno as the drummer for the band. This line-up would remain in place until the band's dissolution in 2002. Unwound was a beautiful, terrible, defining thing. The years have harbored bitterness and regret, at times overshadowing the value of our creation. But as we work on these reissues, it’s become possible to listen without bias, to appreciate without judgment.

Unwound's constant creative output saw them incorporating more expansive ideas into what would be their last studio album, 2001's Leaves Turn Inside You, which took what had been stylistic flirtations with non-punk elements like synthesizers and free jazz saxophones on recent albums into more daring places of composition and production.For the subsequent tour, which lasted through 2002, the 2020-08-07 Unwound: Rat Conspiracy by Unwound, released 18 March 2014 1.
